TREK Ronde van Amstelveen

The 20th Edition of Ronde van Amstelveen - organized by WV de Amstel and sponsored by Trek Amsterdam-Zuid

Ronde van Amstelveen is a crit road race racing around the streets of Amstelveen with five groups of riders battling it out over dozens of rounds. The weather was typically dutch. Sun shining between cloudy patches, always with the threat of some rain.

First race of the day was the “Regiowedstrijd Cat4-5,” a small group of boys and girls (well, one girl!).

Next up was another small group of kids (Regiowedstrijd Cat6-7). While their race started off nice, it did not end of well with a crash between two riders. They were mostly ok with the one rider needing to see the doctor for a possible bone break (ouch!). This also meant no podium photos.

No Dutch cycling race can be without the coffee truck.

The middle of the event was punctuated with the Klasse 2 race with a much larger field of competitors.

Now, the Women’s Race! (also one of the larger races of the day)

The last race of the event was Klasse 1. It had a narrow field but was hard fought.

Thank you WV de Amstel and Trek Amsterdam-Zuid!
